German Ambrosetti has been a professional hunting guide for 5 years. He transitioned away from hunting after experiencing what some describe as the 5th stage of the hunter: when the experience in nature becomes more important than taking game. As he spent more time watching and learning about animals, the larger his respect and desire became to protect them. "Conservation is a relatively new concept in Argentina and most outfitters blatantly ignore the rarely enforced Argentinean game laws. I needed a change and meeting Laura provided me with that opportunity.

German was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1968. He joined the marines in 1984, where he specialized in the use of hand weaponry and man to man combat. By 1990, he was teaching sport combat and urban self defense to military personnel as well as private citizens. He left the marines in 1992 and built his own private security company. His teams were trained as personal bodyguards for many of Argentina’s political and sport celebrities. In 1994, the company grew as he partnered with other masters of defense from Argentina and South America. In 1996, he earned a ranking of fourth Dan in full contact and won his first Argentine championship. He soon became business partners with the South American kickboxing champion and opened “Gym Arenales” in Recoleta, Buenos Aires. This was the first gym in Argentina to train women in personal defense.

 

In 1997, the World Federation of Kickboxing asked him to collaborate in the writing of a series of combat manuals. That same year, he earned the rank of seventh Dan in full contact and his sixth Dan in kickboxing. He became a shooting instructor, superior master of Muay Thai, and opened his third private teaching school. He retired from fighting and teaching in 2006.

 

In early 2005, German began the transition from fighting to tourism. He joined Four Seasons Outfitters, a company with18 years experience providing exclusive hunting and fishing vacations to an international client base. He remained with Four Seasons until meeting Laura and her husband, Marty, in 2007.
